In the aftermath of Zohran Mamdani’s election and with Israel-hater Linda Sarsour revealing that the CAIR-affiliated Unity and Justice PAC was a key supporter, many in the Jewish community are rightly asking: What exactly is CAIR?

Watch my interview on i24TV, where I explain why the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and many of its current and former leaders have long advanced an agenda of Islamism and anti-Zionism in America. As Representative Elise Stefanik and Senator Tom Cotton wrote in their recent letter to the IRS calling for CAIR’s non-profit status to be revoked, the organization has a “pattern of historic ties to Hamas, public rhetoric aligned with Hamas narratives, and support for radical activism,” raising serious questions about whether its activities constitute material support for terrorism.

Mamdani’s victory underscores a troubling reality: there is now no political or social penalty for being openly anti-Zionist or anti-Semitic. Both have become mainstream and acceptable discourse in American politics, while demonizing Jews for supporting the Jewish state is increasingly sanctioned and normalized.
