Dear MEPIN Readers,

Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump have now met seven times, with this latest meeting advanced at Netanyahu’s request—highlighting the urgency of the moment.

Netanyahu is wary of a nuclear-only deal that could be seen as a victory for President Trump, yet still leave Israel facing what it views as its most immediate threat: a large-scale ballistic missile attack that could overwhelm its defenses. In my interview, I cite new research from the ALMA Research and Education Center showing that Iran has significantly restored its missile capabilities and launch sites, with underground facilities remaining intact.

Netanyahu is urging the President to avoid drawn-out negotiations and to withhold sanctions relief unless it addresses not only Iran’s nuclear program, but also its missile, launcher, and solid-fuel production, as well as its support for regional proxies.
