Dear MEPIN Readers,
Are we entering a new phase in Iran’s 47-year war against America, one defined not by endless negotiations, but by kinetic diplomacy?
Will the United States finally begin dictating the terms rather than allowing Tehran to set the pace and agenda?
We should begin by forcibly opening the Strait of Hormuz and removing the regime’s most effective source of leverage. For decades, Iran has used the threat of disrupting this vital shipping lane to pressure the West. Reestablishing free passage under American protection would change the strategic balance.
When Iran inevitably resists and escalates attacks, perhaps President Trump will conclude what four decades of experience suggest: the regime will never keep its word, regardless of what it signs.
If so, the next step should be embracing the ultimate solution, regime change.
A post-Islamic Republic Iran could create a more pro-American Middle East and become the defining achievement of President Trump’s foreign-policy legacy.
It begins with retaking control of the Strait of Hormuz.
