Last week, I warned that Iran had been transparent in its strategy: by getting President Trump to tie Israeli action against Hezbollah in Lebanon to the negotiations, Tehran could use the agreement as a shield to avoid compliance with its obligations.
That concern now appears well-founded. Iran’s only commitment was to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, and even that promise is already in question. — Eric
