For the past 18 years, MEPIN and Keshet Educational Encounters have created unique seminars for people interested in Israel and the Middle East.
Each year we choose a new topic and venue. Past programs have focused on strategic challenges to Israel, the two-state puzzle, and the role of the IDF in Israeli society. In recent years we have taken the seminar further to Cairo, the Palestinian Authority, Amman, the Syrian-Jordanian border, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (pre-Abraham Accords).
This year the seminar will begin with a day of briefings at the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem and then set off to Qatar, Oman, and Dubai. The program includes deluxe accommodations in Jerusalem, Doha, Muscat, and Dubai, most meals, and flights from Israel to Qatar, Oman, and Dubai.
The seminar format is based on informal discussions with policymakers, strategic thinkers, social activists, and cultural figures. Therefore, we aim to keep the number of participants under 20 people.
There are a few places still available for the 2023 Insight Seminar, which is scheduled for May 13-21, with a pre-arrival option in Israel. The program has come together nicely with the assistance of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, a former American Ambassador to Oman from the United States, and my contacts in Washington.
