Dear MEPIN readers,

Introducing unprecedented US tariffs primarily based on trade deficits is upending the world economic order. In Israel’s case, since 1985, 98% of American goods have had zero import tariffs. Israel is being punished for a $7.5 billion trade deficit with the United States that is not due to Israeli tariffs.

This brings us to Netanyahu’s US visit tomorrow at the invitation of President Trump, the first world leader to visit since the tariffs were introduced. No matter what you think of the Prime Minister, Israelis could not have a better choice to negotiate with the President based on a close relationship, Bibi’s economic pedigree from the MIT Sloan School of Management to the Boston Consulting Group to his time as Finance Minister turning the country into a first-world economic power.

But don’t take your eye off the other important issues they will discuss, including the Iran nuclear program, Turkish advances into Syria, the fate of the hostages, Israel’s military operation in Gaza, and dealing with the ICC ruling.

Please listen to my interview and share your thoughts. – Eric
