Dear MEPIN Readers,
I am pleased to share my interview with my friend and colleague, Dalia Ziada, for the Arab Seminar Series of ISCAP.
In the six months since this interview was first scheduled, the Middle East has undergone a profound and rapid transformation. We therefore expanded the original theme—rising and declining Arab and Muslim hegemonies—into a comprehensive analysis of how the current war is reshaping the region.
We examine the evolving trajectories of key states, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Qatar, the UAE, the Abraham Accords countries, and Israel.
The discussion explores what it means for Israel to emerge as the region’s undisputed military power, and how a weakened—but still ideologically committed and unrepentant—Islamic Republic of Iran is likely to behave toward its neighbors and adversaries.
Please share your thoughts, Eric
