Note from Dr. Mandel:

Dear MEPIN Readers,

I have been working with Iranian activists and US Senate foreign policy staff to help publicize the heroic struggle of the Iranian protesters and encourage the Biden administration to elevate their interest in supporting non-violent regime change in Iran. Regime change in Iran is in America’s national security interest.

This week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved a bipartisan resolution “reaffirming the United States’ support for the Iranian citizens who have taken to the streets in peaceful protest for their fundamental human rights, and condemning the Iranian security forces for their violent response.”

Thanks to Senators Menendez (D-NJ), Blackburn (R-Tenn), Casey (D-Pa), Cassidy (R-La.), Rosen (D-Nev.), Cruz (R-Texas), Cramer (R-N.D.), Cardin (D-Md.), Young (R-Ind.), Van Hollen (D-Md.), and Hagerty (R-Tenn.).

Senator Cassidy’s office has been instrumental in organizing the Iranian activists I have met and worked with, and I am appreciative of their efforts. The press release can be found here.

Best,

Eric
