Dear MEPIN Readers,
In my interview on i24 French TV, I addressed the continued reluctance of many international partners to work with the United States to keep critical global waterways secure. I argued that countries benefiting from the steady flow of oil and gas through the Straits of Hormuz have a responsibility to help ensure that this vital route remains open and safe.
Those nations that choose not to share in this burden should not expect the protection of the U.S. military, nor should they be permitted to participate in convoys secured by American forces.
